What we collect
When Banter is connected to a WhatsApp group, we store the messages sent in that group (sender name, text, timestamps), the settings you configure, memories and knowledge you add, and usage metrics (how many AI replies and images your workspace used). Your account holds your email and billing status; payments are processed by Stripe and card details never touch our servers.
How we use it
Group messages are used solely to give the bot conversational context and memory for your group. Message content is sent to the AI provider you select (Anthropic by default) to generate replies. We do not sell data or use your messages for advertising.
Where it lives
Data is stored in our database hosted on Supabase (AWS, Singapore region). AI processing happens with the model provider configured for your workspace.
Your controls
You can view and delete every memory the bot holds, mute the bot per group, or disconnect a group — which stops all new storage immediately. Contact support to delete your account and all associated data permanently.
Group member awareness
By adding Banter to a group, you confirm the group's members are aware an AI assistant that stores messages is present. The bot appears in the member list like any other participant.
